SAN DIEGO -- A pair of San Diego police officers were repeatedly stung by bees Saturday during a pursuit for an auto theft suspect.
The attack occurred as the officers searched a canyon for the suspect who fled from a stolen SUV. One of the officers radioed that he had been stung 20 to 30 times.

ENCINITAS, Calif. -- Authorities say a 55-year-old man went into cardiac arrest and died after being stung more than 500 times by bees as he cleared brush from a property in Southern California.
The man was operating a backhoe in Encinitas, in San Diego County, when he was attacked by the bees late Wednesday morning.
